After research and finding a school that I could do heavy equipment training, I met an incredible man. His name was Dennis. Dennis was the heavy equipment instructor at the school. He was the most amazing, understanding, willing guy I have ever met! He wasn’t able to guarantee that I would be able to get certified in all equipment but he was willing to give it and me a try. He said we don’t know if we don’t try. He had taught a student in South Carolina several years prior who had cerebral palsy so he was comfortable with me having a physical challenge. He was the instructor that when I fell down, which I do regularly, he would laugh and say “Get out of the mud, Mason”. Unlike the previous school, a fall meant “unsafe”. I love that man for giving me the opportunity. That opportunity helped me make my dream of becoming NCCER certified in heavy Equipment come true.
